26 Oct University of Twente and Solliance start collaboration
The University of Twente and Solliance Solar Research have started a long term collaboration, which focusses on the integration of thin film solar technology in building materials and flexible applications, and on further development and analyses of perovskite based solar cells. The University of Twente has joined all three Shared Research Programmes at Solliance Solar Research as a partner.
“With thin-film technology, the current low cost of PV can be further reduced and various applications can be developed.”, said Dr. Angèle Reinders, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Engineering Technology of the University of Twente. “We hope, through this collaboration in a large group that includes partners from the academic world and industry in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, to come to closer corporation and joint research projects.”
“With the University of Twente joining the three programmes, we strengthen the academic base of our research.”, agrees Ronn Andriessen, director of Solliance Solar Research, “Twente has a proven track record on nano-materials science, high-end analytical technologies and many more, which could become crucial for future successful thin film PV developments. We also recognize and appreciate their practical approach in integration and application of PV in the built environment and in transport.”
The partnership has formally started fall 2018.
